Tinlin receives honorable mention

Former South Tahoe High pitcher Dan Tinlin has received honorable mention in the 2008 Coast South-All Conference postseason awards.

Tinlin, a relief pitcher, carries a 2.50 earned run average into the postseason. He has a 1-0 record with two saves. Tinlin has struck out 23 and walked eight batters in 25 1/3 innings.

Chabot (26-15) was seeded fifth in Northern California for the upcoming California Community College baseball playoffs. Chabot was scheduled to play a best-of-three series against Modesto on Saturday and Sunday.

The second round of the playoffs is May 16-18, with the state tournament set for May 24-26 at Fresno City College.
