Titans release McIntyre

Garrett McIntyre was a relentless performer during his college and high school football career. Now the former South Tahoe High football player will need to be just as tenacious in pursuing a pro career.

McIntyre, the 2005 Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, was one of 10 players cut by the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday.

It marked the third time since June that McIntyre has been waived. The Arizona Cardinals trimmed the 260-pound McIntyre from their roster 10 days ago, and Seattle released him on June 2.

McIntyre said that the odds of making an NFL team this summer were stacked against him because he was brought in late to each camp. If he doesn’t catch on with a team in the coming weeks, McIntyre was hopeful of launching his NFL career by participating in the next NFL Europe season.
