Tough start as Vikings fall to Indians
The South Tahoe High boys basketball team’s tough start continued Tuesday night in Elko as the Vikings fell to the Indians, 61-41.
Senior Matt Connelly paced the Vikes in scoring with 25 points, going 9 of 20 from the floor. The guard hit 3 of 7 behind the 3-point arc and 4 of 7 from the free-throw line.
Head coach Derek Allister ws disappointed with his young team’s performance.
“We didn’t really have anyone who played well for us tonight,” the first-year coach said. “We’re struggling right now and have to work harder to get better.”
The Vikings only shot 33 percent from the floor, but managed a 77 percent clip from the line.
The next chance for the Vikings to get better is Saturday at 7 p.m. at Reed.
