Trio of Vikes shoot in 80s

Sean Fannan, Kenny Craig and Dan D’Angelo shot in the 80s as South Tahoe High placed sixth in a 12-team Northern Nevada 4A golf tournament Monday at Desert Lakes in Fernley.

Fannan shot an 8-over-par 80 to tie for fourth place, while the Vikings’ fifth-best season scorer Craig shot 85. D’Angelo was one stroke behind Craig at 86.

Galena’s Bryson Young posted the lowest score, 73, for the fourth consecutive tournament.



Other Viking scores were Hunter Harris and Ryan Kraw with 92. Mike Scheller fired a 98 that didn’t figure in STHS’s team score.

Behind Young, the Grizzlies led all teams with 407. They were followed by Reed with 412, then McQueen 418, Reno 424, Carson 428, South Tahoe 435, Sparks 450, Fallon 452, Elko 456, Douglas 468, Wooster 494 and Hug 521.



Next up for the Vikings is the Carson Invitational on April 16-17 at Eagle Valley Golf Course.
