Truswell’s 73 wins 2A-3A golf tourney

Senior Keith Truswell shot a tournament-low 73, leading Whittell High to second place out of 12 teams at 2A-3A golf event a Rosewood Lakes on Thursday in Reno.

Whittell shot a season-low 399 to finish six strokes behind winner Lowry and defeat third-place Manogue (418) for the first time in two years.

“By far, that is our best overall performance of the year,” said Whittell coach Steve Maltase. “Our scores have improved every week.”

Ryan Salomon shot a 76 to finish with the seventh-best score. Also for Whittell, Parker Fox fired an 81, Patrick Flanagan an 82, Brian Jones an 87 and Cary White a 90.
