South Tahoe High doubles teams only lost one game en rout to sweeping their matches in a default-filled Nevada 4A boys tennis match Tuesday in Reno.

With only four Hug players eligible to compete, the teams wound up playing only doubles matches. South No. 1 Parker Alexander and Garrett Moulton won both of their matches 6-0 and 6-0, as did the Viking No. 2 duo of Mikey Ledesma and Jason Schmedes. Vikings’ No. 3 Brian Stamme and Luke Palmieri won their matches 6-0 and 6-1.

Including the defaults, South Tahoe shut out the Hawks 22 1/2-0.

“I wish we could have gotten few more matches under belts because we play Douglas (today) … that’s going to be our first true test of the season,” said STHS coach Pat Fagen. “Overall, I was pleased with our effort, considering it was hard to get up for the match. They stayed focused and played pretty well.”
