Viking swimmers beat Lowry, still undefeated

South Tahoe’s Kirsten Tang had two first-place finishes in Friday’s swim meet as the Vikings went on to beat Lowry.

The team scores saw the Viking boys beating Lowry 133-117 and the girls winning 153.50-97.50.

Kirsten Tang’s wins came in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle while Lauren Tang finished first in the 200-yard individual medley. Madeline Pennington came in just behind Kirsten Tang for second place in the 200-yard freestyle.

Margaret Albrecht and Kimberly Craig took first in the 500-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle respectively. Albrecht finished second in the 100-yard butterfly followed closely by Pennington in third and Craig tied for a third place finish in the 100-yard freestyle.

Lauren Tang and Maia Smith finished second and third respectively in the 50-yard freestyle.

For the boys, Brady McIntyre placed first in the 100-yard butterfly and second in the 100-yard freestyle. Bryan Peuse took first in the 500-yard freestyle while Charlie Filce finished third.

Louie Marin placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke as Ryan Piazzo placed third.

The relay teams fared well as the girls 200-yard medley team took first place. The boys and girls 200-yard freestyle team each placed third and the boys 400-yard freestyle relay team also grabbed third. The girls 400-yard freestyle team took second.
