Vikings pummel Wooster soccer teams

South Tahoe’s boys soccer team continued its terror streak Saturday defeating division foe Wooster 9-0.

Senior Alex Torres scored the Vikings first two goals and assisted another.

Corey Vermillion and Victor Mariscal each had two goals.

The Vikings’ record improved to 4-0-1 in the 4A Northern Region’s Sierra League with a division high 13 points.

On Wednesday the boys play at home against Carson, who is 3-0-2 in the Sierra League and who are second in points at 11.

The girls team was equally dominating last Saturday, defeating Wooster 13-0 with a variety of players on the field.

“A bunch of girls had the opportunity to score,” said girls coach Julia Russell.

And they did.

Kelly Meyer scored two goals and Erika Gonzalez, who often plays goalie for half the game, scored once and had two assists.

Renee LaForce, Nolie Pierini, Chelsea Calder, Dondra Biller, Megan Roberto, Lauren Bachelder, Kristen Tener, Jennifer Napier and Becky Brand also had goals.

The girls, now at 5-0-0 in the 4A Northern Region’s Sierra League, play their final home game on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. against Carson.
