Warriors sweep Highlanders

Kendra Koskin gave herself a nice birthday present on Monday as she recorded 11 kills and three aces in the Whittell High volleyball team’s 25-22, 25-9, 25-20 nonleague win over Incline in Zephyr Cove.

Koskin, who turned 16, also had 10 service points, while Jessica Woods contributed nine kills, three aces and six digs.

“We really had a lot of little mistakes,” said WHS coach Dan McLaughlin, whose team made 14 offensive hitting errors and 11 service errors. “That’s a lot to overcome. However, we have a lot of weapons that helped us win.”

Jordan Reeder added three kills and a team-high 24 assists for the Warriors (12-8). Whittell plays 4A Douglas on Friday night in Minden.
