White helps Whittell soccer start season with 2 victories

ZEPHYR COVE, Nev. — The Whittell Warriors girls’ soccer team won two games to start the season and will play its home opener tonight.

Warriors senior Anna White recorded a hat trick Friday, Sept. 7, in the Warriors season-opening, 6-0 win over West Wendover. She also recorded an assist.

Ava Campbell, Genesis Alvarez and Kyle Rippett added single goals and Brianna Johns assisted on three goals.

Whittell went to White Pine the next day and came away with a 3-2 victory.

White scored two more goals and Campbell added the other. The Warriors lead 2-1 at halftime and held off the Bobcats.

The Warriors (2-0, 1-0 3A Northern League B) will play its home opener at 5 p.m. tonight against the Yerington Lions (0-0-2 Northern). Whittell also will host the Fernley Vaqueros at 11 a.m. the next day.
