Whittell alum Hunter Morgan concluded his college football career by receiving a national award that recognized his efforts in the classroom. The senior long snapper and nose tackle at Sterling College (Sterling, Kan.) was honored as part of the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete program.

Morgan was one of 31 football players nationally to receive the distinction, awarded to student athletes that are juniors or above with a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA. He played football for four years at Whittell, and after graduating in 2012 accepted a scholarship to play football at Sterling.

This spring, Morgan will graduate ahead of schedule while completing his degree in three-and-a-half years. He will graduate cum laude with a degree in business management.
