Whittell baseball scrimmages North Tahoe on home field

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — The Whittell baseball team took its home field at Lampe Park for the first time this season Thursday afternoon for a five-inning scrimmage against North Tahoe. Originally scheduled as the Warriors’ season opener, the game turned into a scrimmage after the third inning.

In the scrimmage, catcher Payton Galli hit a two-run inside-the-park home run, shortstop Colton Ruby had a single and a run. On the mound, right-hander Quinn Kixmiller threw a scoreless fifth inning with two strikeouts.
