Whittell basketball games postponed

Staff report

The Whittell basketball teams will have to wait a few more days before they play their Northern 2A openers. The Warriors were scheduled to play Lovelock in their league opener on Friday, then come back and play at Silver Stage on Saturday.

However, due to the snow storm that hit Northern Nevada, the games were postponed. Make-up dates have not been rescheduled for either contest.

The Whittell boys return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Virginia City to play the Muckers for the third time this season. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The boys’ basketball team will host Independence in its league opener on Friday.

The Whittell girls will also play at Virginia City, with their game scheduled for 6 p.m. They will host Battle Mountain on Saturday in their league opener.
