Whittell football gets back on the gridiron in Zephyr Cove

ZEPHYR COVE — The Whittell football team traded backpacks for helmets and shoulder pads Monday, Aug. 17, getting back to football after the first day of school. After a turnaround season last year, the Warriors have spent August working toward the upcoming 2015 campaign.

Whittell will travel to scrimmage California schools Princeton, Los Molinos and Elk Creek over two days on Friday, Aug. 21 and Saturday Aug. 22. The Warriors open the 2015 season Aug. 29 at Loyalton (Calif.).
