Wooster rolls to win over STHS

Colts score 10 in first inning

Staff Report

South Tahoe and Wooster both came into Thursday’s game with 1-5 Sierra Division records. The Colts left with a 2-5 record after scoring 10 runs in the first inning and cruising to a 14-1 win in Reno.

“We can definitely beat that team,” STHS coach Matt Tillson said. “I don’t know how we’re going to respond on Saturday.”

Zach Kropf put the Vikings up 1-0 with his solo home run in the top of the first, but got off to a rough start on the mound as South Tahoe’s starting pitcher. He hit the lead off batter, walked three with the bases loaded and gave up five hits.

“He’s much better than that,” Tillson said of his ace pitcher. “It just wasn’t a good day for a lot of people.”

South Tahoe (2-7 overall, 1-6 division) plays a doubleheader against Wooster on Saturday in Reno. The first game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
