Yure, D’Angelo crack top 10 in Carson tourney

Alex Yure and Dan D’Angelo of South Tahoe High each finished in the top 10 in the two-day Carson Golf Tournament at Eagle Valley courses.

Yure shot a final-round 78 on the more difficult West Course to finish eighth overall. D’Angelo, who was third after an opening-round 70, shot 83 to come in ninth.

Their solid rounds helped the Vikings finish in eighth place.

Other totals for the Vikings were Dylan Yuzbick 164, Kevin Fannan 178, Tom Mooney 179 and Nathan Alcorn 184.

Bellarmine Prep out of San Jose won the team title (764), with Eureka second (768) and Carson third (772).
