ZEPHYR COVE, Nev. — Zephyr Cove Ski Club is a local nonprofit organization serving the children of its community. It is part of the Douglas County Ski Club (includes the Saturday and Sunday clubs from the valley) and has been helping children to affordably learn to ski and board for over 50 years.

With Heavenly Mountain and Heavenly Ski School as its partners, Zephyr Cove Ski Club is able to provide deeply discounted lift tickets and lessons to the children in our program. Children from kindergarten through 12th grade from California or Nevada are invited and welcome to join.

The club operates with grant funding from the Douglas County Commissioners and parent participation. It uses Douglas County School buses for transportation and Boulder Lodge Ski School instructors for lessons.

Combined, Zephyr Cove Ski Club has had over 600 kids in the program in a single year and has taught many thousands of kids over the life of the organization.

This year, the Zephyr Cove Ski Club signups will be held during Breakfast With Santa at Kahle Community Center Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon (breakfast with Santa is between 9 and 11 a.m.). It will also have two more signup opportunities at Kahle Community Center — Tuesday Dec. 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
