Zephyr Cove Tennis Club going country for July mixer

Tribune staff report

ZEPHYR COVE — While cowboy boots won’t actually be allowed on the tennis courts, all other country-related apparel is encouraged at Zephyr Cove Tennis Club’s July Hump Day mixer. The theme for the next Wednesday’s event is Country Fried Hump Day.

The club’s latest Hump Day mixer will include barbecue chicken, raffle prizes and adult doubles round robin play for all ability levels. The tennis is semi-serious with an emphasis on fun — play starts at 5:30 p.m.

The mixer costs $10 for club members, $15 for non-members, and $5 for spectators (meal only) — membership is $80 per year. To join, visit http://www.zctennis.com/about/membership or do so the night of the event.

Participants of Hump Day events are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert along with as beverage of choice. No advance signup is required.

Zephyr Cove Tennis Club has six courts nestled in the woods overlooking Lake Tahoe that are open to the public. The club offers lessons for all ages, membership, social mixers and open play — it is located on Warrior Way off Highway 50 in Zephyr Cove. For more info, visit http://www.zctennis.com.
