Associated Press

RENO, Nev. — Interstate 80 has reopened west of Reno after a fiery, fatal crash shut down the eastbound lanes overnight.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says a man was killed and a woman was critically injured when two SUVs crashed a few miles east of the California line at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday.

The Reno Fire Department says one SUV caught fire and that driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the second vehicle had to be extricated before she was taken to a Reno hospital in critical condition.

No other details have been released. An investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
