Gas explosion at Kirkwood Mountain

Crews respond to a gas explosion at Kirkwood Mountain.

California Highway Patrol South Lake Tahoe reported a gas explosion at Kirkwood Mountain Saturday morning.

CHP posted about the explosion on social media around 11 a.m. There were no injuries at the time.

CHP cautioned visitors to watch for emergency crews working in the area.

Law enforcement could not provide additional details late Saturday morning and a voicemail left with a Kirkwood Mountain spokesperson was not immediately returned.
