Lake Tahoe snow totals from most recent storm

The most recent winter storm brought around half a foot of snow to some Lake Tahoe area ski resorts.

Heavenly Mountain Resort reported 5 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours Monday morning, while Kirkwood Mountain Resort reported 7 inches.

North of Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley reported 5 inches of new snow in 24 hours as of 6 a.m. Monday morning.

All three resorts are open for the 2017-18 season.

Chain controls have been implemented on area highways and a winter weather advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m.
