Lake Tahoe weather: Happy first day of fall, here is some more snow
Snow flurries fell on the final day of summer in the Sierra Nevada Thursday. When the sun came up on the first day of fall on Friday it revealed a fresh layer of snow around Lake Tahoe.
And there could be more.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno is forecasting a 40 percent chance of precipitation with a daytime high of 47 degrees in South Lake Tahoe Friday. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.

With high temperatures expected to climb into the 50s this weekend, don’t expect any additional snow to stick around very long.
Looking ahead to next week, NWS says more seasonal conditions are expected to return with a high of 71 possible on Thursday.
