Lake Tahoe Unified School District thanks Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra for Thanksgiving dinner at Mt. Tallac

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Lake Tahoe Unified School District would like to give a big thank you to Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra for providing a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner for our Mt. Tallac High School students. Head cook Jeanne Prestella led the effort, preparing a fantastic meal that made the day feel special.
Mt. Tallac teacher Amy Jackson shared that the school’s theme this week was gratitude. Tables were set with cards featuring messages about thankfulness, helping students reflect on what they appreciate. The students loved the meal, which included turkey, gravy, tasty desserts, and plenty of delicious sides.
After enjoying the celebration, students were even given take-home meals to enjoy later. Everything was fresh and fantastic.
Jeanne Prestella said the Soroptimists love giving back to the community and that it brings them joy. Providing this meal is one way they show their care and support for Mt. Tallac students.
