Jean passed away on the first day of spring of this year. Jean came out to California as a teenager with her mother, father and four brothers in the late 1940’s. On the way, she passed through Tahoe
and got her first glimpse of what would eventually be her home. She was married and had two children. Her immediate family moved to Tahoe in the late sixties.
She committed two years in Tucson, AZ caring for her eldest son Bob, after he contracted cancer. And upon his passing on July 4, 1999, she returned home to Tahoe. She is survived by her son Jim, and grandchildren, Ashley and Erik Greenwood as well as her granddog Oreo. Jean loved the lakes and mountains, her friends and family completely. She donated her life to her family. She also had a great sense of humor. A positive outlook on life was her way. Jean was a homemaker, champion pie maker and a phenomenal cook. She is missed by all those who knew her well.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenwood home at 1847 13th Street on July 31st. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
