EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors passed two consent items that affect Tahoe, approving a contract for the relocation of county buildings and reappointing Tahoe Conservation District (TCD) directors.

Vanir Construction Management is now contracted to work on the relocation of county buildings at 1111, 1113 and 1115 Emerald Bay Road, a project that is now in Phase 2. The three-year term will have a total compensation not exceeding $892,873.

The project will relocate the Health and Human Services (HHSA) buildings from the El Dorado Center to the former Barton Health Care buildings at 1111, 1113 and 1115 Emerald Bay Road. It would move the Public Health functions, assessor’s office, child support services and District 5 services to these buildings, with an additional multi-purpose conference center in 1115 Emerald Bay Road to serve county staff working in the Tahoe Basin.

Supervisor Brooke Laine and the clerk of the board also recommended that Jason Burke and Kathleen McIntyre be reappointed to the TCD board, with terms ending on October 28, 2029.

Laine and Supervisor Lori Parlin also voted no on an item that would repeal Ordinance 5211, which regulated tobacco retailers for all purposes within unincorporated areas of the county. However, the item passed.

The next board of supervisors meeting will take place on November 4.
