El Dorado Sheriff finds narcotics during traffic stop

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. On Sunday November 9, 2025 around 10 a.m., deputies assigned to the South Lake Tahoe Office of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a Gray Nissan Pathfinder.

The vehicle was occupied by a male driver who was identified as Nevada resident, Donald Freitas. During the course of the traffic stop and investigation, narcotics paraphernalia and illegal narcotics were located in the vehicle.

Approximately 5.5 ounces of suspected methamphetamine was located. Freitas was arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Jail for numerous drug related charges.
