LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Tahoe Elite Cheer Team has been invited to help kick off the National Rugby League’s Telstra Premiership at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 28, 2026, where professional rugby teams from Australia and the United Kingdom will face off in three matches.

The South Tahoe-based cheer team will join 500 other cheerleaders and dancers from around the world in a routine during a halftime show.

Preparations include an eight-hour class from the NFL Miami Dolphin’s cheer coach to learn the routine and prepare for one of the biggest stages the team has performed on with thousands in attendance.

“This will be a really good experience for any of the girls who would like to join NFL and cheerlead professionally or even college level,” Victoria Hemenes, Tahoe Elite founder said.

Tahoe Elite is inviting athletes from other local teams, ages 8-23, to join for the event as well.

In addition to preparation and practice, the opportunity will require community support through donations and sponsorships to help with hotel and travel costs.
