It is an undisputed fact that brunch is the best meal on the planet. The only thing that makes a table full of pancakes, omelettes and pastries even better is the social acceptance of day drinking.

South Lake Tahoe offers many great places to get your brunch on — in addition to other South Shore eateries, these spots are where you should check out the booze — mimosas and Bloody Marys, we’re lookin’ at you.

Sprouts Café

The natural foods eatery serves up a mean Bloody Mary. It features carrot, tomato, beet, celery, parsley and cayenne — simple, yet satisfyingly delicious. The café also recently began serving mimosas, so it’s a perfect spot to get your fix.

Sprouts is located at 3123 Harrison Ave. and is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Learn more about the café online at http://www.sproutscafetahoe.com.

Brothers Bar and Grill

Did you start a party the night before that you just don’t want to end? Brothers is the place for you — especially on Sunday, when the establishment serves its Ultimate Bloody Mary. Consisting of Brothers’ special mix, three fried jumbo shrimp and Tahoe Blue Vodka, the drink is $8.

Brothers Bar and Grill opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and is open Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Breakfast is served daily from opening until 2 p.m. Additional information is available online at http://www.brothersbartahoe.com.

Artemis Lakefront Café

Nothing beats sipping your Bloody Mary while enjoying a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. Found in Ski Run Marina, Artemis Lakefront Café is the perfect location to enjoy your boozy brunch and take in the spectacle of our region. Bonus: The eatery offers unique breakfast options such as gyro slices with peppers and onions.

Located at 900 Ski Run Blvd. #111, the Mediterranean restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Get more details online at http://www.artemislakefrontcafe.com.

The Tavern at Tahoe Beach Retreat & Lodge

The expansive bar and restaurant offers both Bloody Marys and mimosas, as well as a view of Tahoe’s iconic scenery. The Tavern also features a diverse menu: New York steak and eggs, huevos rancheros, and various forms of eggs Benedict are all served.

The restaurant is open Sundays through Thursdays from 7-11 a.m. and 5-9 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tahoe Beach Retreat & Lodge is found at 3411 Lake Tahoe Blvd., and more information is available at http://www.tahoebeachretreat.com.
