Campgrounds at Fallen Leaf Lake and elsewhere in the Tahoe Basin are set to open in less than two weeks. However, snow and flooding will keep some locations and specific campsites closed for a little bit longer.

On the West Shore campgrounds still have a large amount of snow at lake level, according to the U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. Meeks Bay campground will open on May 19 and Kaspian and William Kent campgrounds will open on June 2.

Fallen Leaf campground will open May 12, but some sites will be closed due to wet conditions.

For the latest opening dates, visit the LTBMU website.
