Joy Lynn Marty, 64, passed peacefully on December 24, 2023 at Renown Regional Medical Center, after suffering a major cardiac event. Through the Organ Donor Network, she lives on in others.
As her name implies, she brought joy and happiness to her many close friends and others, just through her infectious laugh and so many random acts of kindness.
Joy was born and raised in Fair Oaks, CA then moved here to South Lake Tahoe in the early 1980s, employed by Heavenly Ski Resort. She then moved to Stateline, NV and was employed by the Red Hut on Kingsbury for almost fifteen years. She bartended at The Goal Post for several more.
Joy leaves behind her loving partner Tommy Ray, sisters Kim, Jan, and Kris, brother Rob, her nephew Zachary, and nephews Mike, Jeff, and their growing families.
She soars above us now on gilded wings, and through eyes of grief wetted by sorrow, slowly we begin to smile now at our many warm memories of such an angel.
Plans for a celebration of her life are in process for late spring, early summer.
