SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit is proud to announce Round Hill Pines Beach Resort has been selected to host the 2024 Lake Tahoe Summit in coordination with Nevada Senator, Catherine Cortez Masto. Round Hill Pines Beach Resort will limit access on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, to those who registered for the Tahoe Summit until the Tahoe Summit ends, which could be as early as 12:30 p.m. Registration is currently open to the general public and will close this week.

To provide for public safety, there will be a Forest Service closure order at Round Hill Pines Beach resort on Wednesday, August 14, which will close the beach from 5 a.m. until 9 a.m. and close most of the resort, including the general forest areas, from 12 a.m. until 2 p.m. The beach will be accessible to those registered for the Tahoe Summit after 9 a.m. While general forest areas will be closed, the areas not covered by the closure order include the bike path, road, and parking area for use by members of the public, who registered for the event, as they arrive. This year’s theme is “Connecting Tahoe: Investing in Transit, Trails, and Technology for the Future.” Erick Walker, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit Forest Supervisor, said “we are excited to host the Tahoe Summit on National Forest land this year, an incredible opportunity to highlight the great work being done to protect Lake Tahoe across two states, with the Washoe Tribe as well as an array of local, state, federal, and private partners.”

No on-site parking will be permitted for the general public as on-site parking is limited to those with permits the day of the Tahoe Summit. The Forest Service encourages the use of public transportation or the complimentary shuttle service. The Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition will provide a complimentary bike valet for those who choose to ride.

Again, advance registration is required, and the event will be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person.
