Semi-truck overturned
A semi-truck driver lost control on a curve near Caples Lake Dam Wednesday, rolling his truck and trailer, and spilling gravel onto the roadway. California Highway Patrol officers said State Route 88 was closed for an hour and reduced to one lane for four hours while Caltrans crews worked to clean up the mess.
The driver, a 46-year-old Reno man, was not injured in the accident. CHP officers said the man was traveling west on State Route 88 around 10 a.m. when he entered the 30 mph curve at about 40 mph. The truck overturned when the driver tried to slow down once he was in the curve.
The road reopened at around 3 p.m.
