STATELINE, Nev. — Superheroes, Star Wars villains and comic book fans will take over the Tahoe Blue Event Center when Lake Tahoe Comic Con returns Aug. 23 and 24.

Now in its third year, the two-day event invites fans of comics, cosplay, sci-fi, fantasy and pop culture to explore vendor booths, meet celebrity guests and compete in costume contests.

Doors open at 10 a.m. both days.

Celebrity guests this year include WWE Hall of Famers Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine. Star Wars fans will recognize Leilani Shiu, who appeared in “The Mandalorian,” “The Book of Boba Fett” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi.” All three are scheduled to be available for autographs and photos.

A highlight of the weekend will be the cosplay competitions, Saturday for adults, and Sunday for kids. Participants are encouraged to dress to impress, with prizes awarded for creativity and craftsmanship.

The event will also feature comic book artists, toy and collectible vendors, live panels, photo ops and family-friendly programming.

Tickets are available online or at the door. Children 8 and under get in free.

The Tahoe Blue Event Center is located at 75 U.S. Highway 50 in Stateline.
