Obituary- Morris Kanter
Memorial services will be Saturday, May 5 for Morris Kanter, who died April 18, 2001, at his home in Gardnerville, Nev. He was 69.
Mr. Kanter was born June 6, 1931, at Newark, N.J., to Benny and Fannie (Sherb) Kanter. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He had been a resident of South Lake Tahoe before moving to Gardnerville 29 years ago and had been an employee of Harveys Resort & Casino since June 1969. He loved helping people. He enjoyed watching sporting events on TV and in person and was an avid garage sailor.
Survivors include his wife, Doris J. Kanter of Gardnerville; sons, Mark Kanter of Portland, Ore., and Dale Kanter of South Lake Tahoe; daughter, Geraldine Callahan of South Lake Tahoe; and sisters, Norma Boorstien of Maywood, N.J., and Leona Kanter of Macon, Ga. He was predeceased by his parents.
Memorial services will take place at 1 p.m. May 5 at the Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, NV 89410.
